place...this sounds as though the ending will be hanging as with the end of

war of Coordinators and Naturals, at some point it always gets cornered by one
side. It's like a backup plan should everything else fails, that's why the
Akatsuki was only shown to Cagalli during the war. To quote Uzumi's will,
"Power is just power......This is a sword to protect others with" It
was keep in secret for two years, assuming it was build before Uzumi pass away.
This was also why ORB had developed the Murasames as shown at the end of
GS.
But now, ORb has decided to take a more active approach in stopping the war,
leading to AA being officiated as part of ORB's space troops. The question
you're asking is the same as asking why does Strike Freedom , Infinite Justice
and AA exists. All are top of their class and yet do not side with Coordinators
nor Naturals. However, it is how they are being used, that is for the better of
mankind and peace which makes them different from the two sides.

authorised her to fly the Skygrasper, remember? Well, I did find it a bit weird
to be loaning her father's gift to someone myself, but after analysing the
moment a bit, it did seemed like the right thing. Uzumi did mentioned that
Akatsuki was meant to be used when it is needed and now that ORB is back on its
tracks, there isn't a need for it anymore. Now what ORb needs is her, Cagalli
herself to guide them back to stability.
After all, Cagalli has officiated AA as part of ORB's space troops, whatever
decisions AA makes will reflect on ORB's stand. I believe Cagalli wishes to do
her part to assist AA in stopping Dullindal, but unfortunately she is unable to
take a more active part having chosen to stay back on Earth. Therefore, the best
she has to offer is Akatsuki, rather than letting it rust( I doubt it, with all
the gold plating and all ), she
has also selflessly loaned it to Neo/Mwu who is currently MSless anyway. Another
reason why I love Cagalli~! ^_^
Well to me, Athrun and Cagalli is the key to the end of the war. One being a
Natural and the other being a Coordinator, both co-existing in harmony. That
would prove to the world that the two races can indeed be at peace. ^^ That's
also why I love this couple. Both are from well known and very influential
family background, carrying the Zala and Athha name. Hopefully, at the end of
the series, we get to see them announce their love to the world.

they can to stop the war.(ie. Cagalli-rebuilding ORB and Athrun stopping
Dullindal) I have nothing against Meyrin, I think she's really sweet but I don't
think she has a chance against Cagalli. Cagalli asking Meyrin to take care of
Athrun only shows how much she trusts her and the selflessness of her to give
Athrun the opportunity to make his choice. Athrun is willing to wait for
Cagalli, judging by his words, ."..there is no haste since our dreams are
the same." So, there, Athrun and Cagalli are still pretty much in love.
^__^ By not going to space, she has chosen to accept her responsibilities as a
leader, I see this as very good character development.

putting aside her own feelings for ORB. Note that she only took off the ring but
did not return it to Athrun. She's matured enough to understand where her
priorities and responsiblities lie, knowing that, she is selfless enough to not
tie down Athrun with her. Thus, taking off the ring only symbolises that she
releases him from her, allowing him the choice of not returning to her when the
war is over. I find that really sweet. And from the way Athrun acted and
mentioning that it is okay to wait since their dreams are the same, this further
confirms that he understands her decision and in turn will wait for her when she
has finished her part in ORB. Gosh, I really do love this couple~! So yes, I do
think that AsuCaga will stand the test of time until the end of GSD. ^_^

She is a Natural. It's been confirmed in her character stats. Seed mode does not only apply to Coordinators. It's some sort of evolution.
